Puzzle #56: “To Continue….”

Puzzle #56Title: “To Continue….”
Difficulty: Wednesday/Thursday
Download:  Across Lite or Printable PNG image

As you can see, it is once again Wednesday, and I am once again left with an excellent puzzle and nothing much to say about it.  Thus, I am moved to experiment with the bare bones format above.  I will try this for a few weeks and see if it gleans approval or rotten tomatos, and make adjustments from there.

Puzzle #55: “Paws to Reflect”

Puzzle #55It’s Wednesday again, which means it’s time for a fresh new crossword puzzle.  This week’s entry should fit that description nicely.  Our panel of reviewers tell us that this one weighs in at Tuesday/Wednesday on the NYT difficulty scale and that at least one of the clues should make you groan or wish to pummel the author (who will therefore stay safely out of reach).

If you’ve visited before you know the drill: you can download the puzzle in either Across Lite format or as a printable PNG image.  Happy solving.

Puzzle #54: “Try the Coffee”

Puzzle #54Welcome back.  If you’ve come to our cozy little blog for a pick-me-up, we’ve got just the thing — fresh hot crosswords, served straight from the carafe.  This week’s offering is a nice domestic blend, with a hearty flavor and just a hint of bitterness.  Our panel of reviewers have pronounced it to be sufficiently robust for public consumption, and graded it at a Thursday level on the NYT difficulty scale.  Sorry, but we don’t offer decaf.

As always, this puzzle may be downloaded either in Across Lite format or as a printable PNG image.  Just don’t let it keep you up all night.

Puzzle #53Ah, there you are!  Welcome back.  If you are here for your weekly dose of free crossword puzzles, you are in luck.  We were just serving up the latest offering as you came by.  This week is a nice traditional outing, with a fairly relaxing, straightforward theme.  But watch out — we kept the clues and the vocabulary at a nice challenging level to keep you occupied.  Thus, it has been rated has a Wednesday/Thursday on the NYT difficult scale.

As always, you can pick your favorite file format: either Across Lite or printable PNG image.  Happy solving.

Puzzle #52: “On Your Feet”

Puzzle #52If it’s Wednesday, it must be time for another Beekeeper crossword.  And so it is.  In fact, this is puzzle #52, which means we’ve been keeping a steady pace, running one crossword a week, for an entire year now.  Happy anniversary!  It’s been no walk in the park, and there’s been a delay or two, but it’s been a good time, and we hope to keep catering to your cruciverbalistic cravings for some time to come.

This puzzle is interesting for another reason.  If you’re like many of us, you get tired of seeing the same old boring three letter words time after time.  So have we, and that’s why we banished all of the three letter words from the puzzle entirely.  You still get to enjoy some of the same old boring four letter words — no, not those — but that’s a task for another day, and another puzzle.

As has been the case for the entire year, you can download puzzles as either Across Lite files or printable PNG images.  You won’t go wrong either way.

Puzzle #51: “Escalation”

Puzzle #51Welcome back.  We’ve got another fine puzzle for you this week, but its theme is a bit different than you may be used to from Beekeeper crosswords.  This is because there are plenty of theme entries, but we aren’t going to make it obvious which ones they are.  There should be enough hints for you to figure it out though.  (Yes, the title of the puzzle is one of those hints.)

What with one thing and another, the difficulty of this puzzle has been adjudged (by our ever faithful panel of experts) to be a Thursday on the NYT challenge scale.  If you feel up to the challenge, you can download it as either an Across Lite file or a printable PNG image.  Happy solving.

Puzzle #49: “TV Gduie”

There is nothing wrong with your television set. Do not attempt to adjust the picture. We are controlling transmission. If we wish to make it louder, we will bring up the volume. If we wish to make it softer, we will tune it to a whisper. We can reduce the focus to a soft blur, or sharpen it to crystal clarity. We will control the horizontal. We will control the vertical.

— The Outer Limits

Puzzle #49Welcome back to everyone out in TV-land.  You may notice if you check your episode guide crossword clues that this week’s sit-com line-up is a bit….twisted.   However, we have confidence that, as always, everything will work out neatly by the end of each 30 minute episode, or at least by the time you fill in 57-down.  Our ever-faithful panel of reviewers have given this puzzle two thumbs up, three glares of annoyance, and 4 groans of agony.  They’ve also rated it as a Wednesday/Thursday level on the venerable NYT difficulty scale.

As usual, you can acquire this puzzle in your choice of formats — either VHS or BETA HD-DVD or Blu-Ray Across Lite or printable PNG file.  Y’all come back now, hear!

Puzzle #48: “A Path to Perfection”

Puzzle #48They say you should write what you know, so that’s what we did.  This puzzle was inspired by our local 60 across — a veritable palace of perfection.  To work the puzzle, you don’t need to be perfect: you just need enough know-how to handle a Wednesday-level crossword, and the ability to click on a download link.  You can even choose between a perfectly elegant Across Lite download or a perfectly elegant printable PDF file.

Puzzle #47: “Lore Reversal”

Puzzle #47Welcome back.  It is once again Wednesday, which means that it’s time for a new free crossword puzzle, and time for me to once again find something fascinating to say about it without actually giving away the theme.  Unfortunately, I’m tapped out this week.  Our panel of reviewers have told us that it ranks as a Wednesday/Thursday on the NYT difficulty scale, but beyond that you’ll just have to accept that it’s a really nifty puzzle with a really boring description.  Tune in next week and maybe we will return you to your usual witty banter.

As usual, you can download the puzzle in your choice of format: either as an Across Lite file or a printable PNG image.  Enjoy.
