   60-across clue is “QED component”. Without giving away the solution in the comments, suffice it to say I believe the intended answer is incorrect.

   You are quite right, and the puzzle was wrong. I’ve replaced it with an updated version that should hopefully be more satisfactory. Thanks for keeping us honest.
